Dronetag Cellular Coverage
The common question we get from our users is "In which country can I use Dronetag?". Well, the short answer is: almost anywhere in the Europe and USA. Unlike others, we don't impose any roaming restrictions or limitations. However, you still have to keep in mind list of our supported cellular carriers in table below. If you don't find your country in the list, don't worry! We are expanding our network partners cooperation rapidly and we aim to have most of the countries covered overtime.
Why don't we have whole world covered?
The common smartphones that are now available use 3G/4G/5G cellular networks. Despite the global coverage they offer, they also carry some disadvantages. Their hardware modules are quite expensive, big and power hungry.
On the other hand, there are new emerging cellular networks specialized for Internet of Things (IoT). Two of those representatives known as NB-IoT and LTE-M are well suited for affordable and small tracking devices, thus we decided to use those technologies for Dronetag. Although the aim of these networks is to have global coverage, worldwide roaming agreements haven't been established yet.
Coverage Table
To have most of the EU and USA market covered, we decided to create 3 hardware variants of our Dronetag devices with different SIM chips soldered on board. These 3 options are marked with letters A, K, and V, and you can find which one you own under CE symbol on your device sticker. Each variant is compatible with multiple cellular networks in country where we operate, but during the order you don't have to worry about choosing the right one as we will handle this for you.
For coverage options of your country, please see the table below. There are multiple rows for some countries because we support multiple carriers there and their network configuration might differ (e.g. they use different radio technologies and LTE bands). Variants A and V have the same coverage, so they share same column. For further questions, contact us at support@dronetag.cz.
